SMS are certainly useful but cannot it be a threat?

SMS has showned its utility in our every day life and now became one thing we cannot barely live without...But is it safe? Cannot it be use against us?

Violence on the internet

Threats of violence on the internet have been followed by real acts, such as in Finland last week, and in Virginia Tech last year. Should there be police patrols of the internet? Should the police intervene before the acts?

I think that this problem is an international one because of the universality of internet: for example, Chinese authorities are to send two virtual police officers to patrol the internet, in a bid to combat "illicit activities", state media has reported.

The animated figures, a man and a woman, will appear on users' screens every 30 minutes "to remind them of internet security", China Daily said. This is because the Chinese government censors all internet and media content.

This process blocks content it deems politically or morally threatening, but some users have found ways to circumvent government controls. So i think hackers will ever be more efficient than police on this issue.....
Even if "the virtual police officers would protect "netizens" from harm"....

I think if police were on internet maybe we could have less murders but as i said, people will find another way to broadcast their anger! Internet is a global village were there isn't border so if police has a look on what is announced on it, i think it will modify the status of this media!

Success stories...

The internet has been the scene of some spectacular success stories where young creators of sites or services have made huge fortunes. Many examples can be given such as Google, created by Larry Page and Sergey Brin two students at Stanford University in 1995 which now worth several billion of dollars, and Facebook, created in 2004 by Harvard students and which counts around 18 millions of registred people and worth hundred of million of dollars. In these two examples, the combination of youth, internet and creativity led to the creation of two huge international companies with as their start : the will to modify the everyday life!!

Becoming famous on the internet...

First, what is the definition of fame? In a traditional dictionary, one can easily find those definitions :
- [noun] the state or quality of being widely honored and acclaimed
- [noun] favorable public reputation

Before internet it was said that each person would probably have at least 15 minutes of fame in their lifetime! That trend of thought was prior to the Internet becoming a major part of everyone's lives. Thanks to the Internet that fame can be long lasting, easy to attain, and remain forever. The only condition being that no one deletes our name from any sites we visited, or groups we started, or articles we wrote. Thus our fame can remain long after we ourselves are gone.the Internet.

Google...a force for good?

Web search as a Force for Good? No, I am not talking about a new beta service from Google! I think that when web searches are not actually saving people's lives they are improving them by saving time! I talk about how the 4 billion web pages Google indexes can be harnessed to actually make a difference in the everyday lives of people around the world with the innovative new services that Google is coming up with.

Where's Google going next? Is it remaining just a search engine for text on the web? Why is it venturing into the banner ad space, where there are plenty of well entrenched companies? After information and product searches, what next? Searching for people?

How is Google managing to crack, in a seemingly easy way, the tough problems in linguistics and semantic understanding that researchers around the world are struggling to solve?
How will Google defend its key resource, the vast amounts of data it collects on a daily basis, when the accessibility to such vast storage is becoming easier?

What made Yahoo's once vaunted search bite the dust? Peter Norvig answers all these questions and gives a unique view of what happens inside Google, including the tradition behind the curious holiday logos that Google uses.

When banks hate you

Prosper, America's first people-to-people lending marketplace, was created to make consumer lending more financially and socially rewarding for everyone.
It's really a new thing! Is it generosity? Let's invest!

Borrowers create loan listings for up to $25,000 and set the maximum rate they are willing to pay a lender. Then the auction begins as people who lend bid down the interest rate. Once the auction ends, Prosper takes the bids with the lowest rates and combines them into one simple loan.

They say on the website that "The way Prosper works is intuitive to people who have used an online auction. it's nearly the same! People list and bid on loans using Prosper's online auction platform. People who want to lend set the minimum interest rate they are willing to earn and bid in increments of $50 to $25,000 on loan listings they select. People who lend can easily diversify using "standing orders", which automatically make many small loans to different borrowers. Prosper handles all on-going loan administration tasks including loan repayment and collections on behalf of the matched borrower and lenders. "

I think it can be developped in the next few years because there's a lack of social links, mix with a lack of money: people needs some help, they need to be trust by someone.....but if we check the interst rates, it's incredible! up to 25%...!
I think it's a shame, because when you borrow 100$ you have to give 25 more, you can't get out of it!........

learnenglish: the best way to learn english on the internet!

LearnEnglish is a portal which links to all the British Council's websites for teachers and learners of English - just one web address to remember§ this website is very interesting because you can have fun while learning a new english!
You can find sports and culture news, games, grammar test... to summarize, LEARN-ENGLISH is very well-made because you can search informations about New Zealand, USA, Ireland, Wales.... every land where english is spoken! The notion of diversity is very important because if you want to join the group, you want to belong to this world you have to learn english!
The element which is very different, compares to "English Daily" for example, is the diversity of the "lessons": you can learn english without realize that you are in a grammar class!
Every week, the website gives a new theme, (this week it's "pirates"...) and declines every rubric around this idea: poem, stories.......

ps: i choose this website because of the color of the banneer which remind me the green of my blog.....!;)

Safe outsourcing

Outsourcing all or part of a company's customer service operation helps to lower costs, better focus in-house resources, and even improve customer relationships - but entrusting customers to an outside vendor can also create a "gap" which damage those customer relationships.
Executives who hire an outsourcer to make customer service problems "Go away" often find that the projected cost savings are quickly swamped by increased customer dissatisfaction and expensive customer attrition explains a managing director.

Effective outsourcing means eliminating the service gap by intelligently and actively managing outsourcing relationships.
It was the topic of my internship last year: how a litte company can manage its outsourcing? What are the limits? Is it less expensive?
This question is very interesting because of many parameters which can change the debate.....

corrected text...!!

I currently work in a company that employs 65 salaries. It is located in Paris in the 15th arrondissement on the street called Rue Maubert. Its sells children’s software. It benefits from government subsidies from the state to hire young interns. That is how I received my job which is entitled "sales representative".
At first, my job title was "marketing manager", but I changed jobs.We sell a range of products with the brand Youngsoft. We have many marketing expenses. Our display advertising in the metro is one of the most expensive. Our PR department also has a very large budget.
We create our own commercials with our copywriting staff, and we do our own edition of user manuals. Our quarterly results for this year have all been very positive. The market we are in is very interesting right now, and that is why we are making profits.
We want to sell our products in Tahiti because we think overseas customers would be interested in buying them.In a nutshell, because of our positive ethics and interesting market niche, we have a rosy future.

Do you tweet???

To be honest, when my English teacher asked me to write about Twitter, I had never heard of it...
So I went to the website and discover that it's "A global community of friends and strangers answering one simple question: What are you doing? Answer on your phone, IM, or right here on the web!"

Still to be honest I don't really see the interest of the "voluntary spying": why do people wants to know every activity of a friend? What king of interest do they find in sharing their diary?
Obviously, it might be interesting for professionals if they want to broadcast news from a modern way! Nervertheless, i think it's interesting if your network is a big one!

Do you love twitting?

When my teacher asked me to write about Twitter, i was quiet annoying, because I had never heard about this community... so I went and read the definition of this website: A global community of friends and strangers answering one simple question: What are you doing? Answer on your phone, IM, or right here on the web!

And, to be honest I m quiet surprised by this community, I can't see the interest of this "voluntary spying"... Who really cares about the daylies activies of a friend and, furthermore, an unknown person?
And who wants everyone to know its diary?
Of course, it may be interesting from an professional point of view, if a compagny doesn't want to broadcast a message freely an rapidly, a tweet may be the solution! It's a modern way to announce a

Let's talk about pollution...

I don't want to talk about environment, geology, and climatic evolutions. I want raise another issue:“privacy pollution”?

I 'm sure it's have some similarity to air pollution: where small blots of contamination build to form blankets of smog: in combination the effect can be overpowering. Like environmental contaminants, even it's obviously pretty insignificant to receive a piece of unwanted SPAM or yet another telemarketing call, but most people receive quite a few unsolicited and unwanted phone calls, letters and emails each week… At the end, the accumulation is quite annoying...

The overall effect is that these tiny but insidious strategies combine together to shape our behaviour. Together, they contribute to a climate where private life, thoughts and choices are pervaded and almost forgotten. We must try to find some way not only of limiting the impact that this has on each of us, but also to find spaces in which we can be free.

One to one marketing doesn't help us to find this freedom, because the aim of this customer relationship management strategy is to emphase personalized interactions with customers. The personalization of interactions is thought to foster greater customer loyalty and better return on marketing investment...

I think we have to think about a balance between one-to-one approach, remembering details about each customer's preferences and characteristics and using that knowledge to provide better service.

What's a good blog?

In fact, I don't know, (if I know, i 'll do it better...)

I think a good blog has to be very attractive, because if you expect fidelity from your readers, you have to interest them...

Writing for someone you don't know is quite difficult, but by including pictures, comments, maybe your own forum you can make it quite "universal".....

Crowrdsourcing!

Crowdsourcing is a every interesting strategy to collect many points of views about a subject, with almost no money!
Indeed, refering to wikipedia, the "Crowdsourcing is a neologism for the act of taking a job traditionally performed by an employee or contractor, and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people, in the form of an open call. For example, the public may be invited to develop a new technology, carry out a design task, refine an algorithm or help analyze large amounts of data."
Many brains may do many things.....

Generosity on internet....

When we talk about generosity, we obviously talk about sharing something: it can be an item, a moment, a hand....

On internet, it can be words... that's why I want my blog to look like a forum, a place where everyone can add something when he wants...
As a business model, we could also quote aroundtheworld, a website where everyone can give his opinion about a trip, a town, a landscape.....
Free informations are daily given by globtrotters, who are just looking for comments, debates.......that is for me generosity, when everyone add someting without excepting more than words in return!
THe webmaster only send news or games or videos... just to have fun et share something witk internauts!
